Custom Aluminum Flatbeds

Handmade, heavy-duty, loaded with storage, and built to go offroad.

Our flatbed was originally developed to carry the Nimbl Evolution truck camper. They were built to be lightweight, responsive, and packed with features. Each is made to order, and can be extensively modified for specialty use.

2026 Update

We have decided to close orders for custom flatbeds going forward. With our current capacity, we aren’t able to offer custom flatbed production, especially as we increase focus on our other services.

This page will remain active to share the work our team has done to create expedition-ready flatbeds for previous vehicle builds.

We are still available to provide service, repair, and install support for truck campers and expedition vehicles. If you have questions, please feel free to get in touch with us at 530-507-0097 or info@nimblvehicles.com.

The basics

  • 4 large rectangular side storage boxes.

  • 6’ rear drawer with lid.

  • Forward “flex space” against the cab.

  • Heavily customizable and ready for rough terrain.

Storage box features

  • Sizes varied depending on configuration. The boxes shown on the black truck are 34" x 12.5" x 18" (front) and 43" x 14" x 18" (rear).

  • Flat-bottom storage on all side boxes.

  • Interior LED lighting, wired into the stock harness so the lights shut off automatically if left on long enough.

  • Inset door seals resist dust and weather.

  • Heavy-duty aluminum construction.

  • Lockable low-profile latches.

  • Drain for easy cleaning.

Loaded with features.

Over the years, we’ve developed a ton of different options for the flatbed, based on what customers wanted for their build. You can check out some examples below.

Forward Flex Space Options

Bike Box

Slide-out box made to fit a pair of mountain bikes (with front wheels removed). Holds both safely in place. Full extension drawer makes them a breeze to deploy. [Full width.]

Spare Tire Rack

We’ve got a few different designs, depending on tire size, all the way up to 44” tires. Winch assist as needed. [Half width.]

Fuel Tank

Store up to 50 gallons of fuel, for all your fuel needs! Motorcycles, quads, and other OHVs, or just to give you that extra range. [Full Width.]

Large Storage

Nothing wrong with more storage! Door opens horizontally. Can be split into shelves as desired. [Full width or half width.]

Traction Board Mount

Secure hinged mount for a set of traction boards, set on top of a full width storage box or fuel tank. [Full width, on top.]

Additional Features

Compressor + Air Chucks

Heavy duty air compressor mounted inside one of the forward storage compartments. Air plumbed to two air chucks on the left and right, for airing tires up and down. Compressed air is handy!

Headache Rack

Heavy-duty aluminum headache rack mounted at the front of the flatbed.

Extended Rear Drawer (8’)

Rear drawer extended out to 8’. It opens to 6’ with the drawer lid, but has extra space at the back of the drawer for storing especially long items.

Fold-up Sideboards and Tailgate

Get a set of fold-up sideboards and tailgate. Not so flat anymore!

Rock Lights

Hook up a set of colorful LED ground-wash lights beneath the bed to set the mood, show off your rig at night, and make your campsite stylish and easy to navigate.

Necessary? No. Cool? Very.

L-Track Rails

We’ve installed L-track rails along the sides of the flatbed to provide a versatile mounting and light cargo system. Y’know, in case it wasn’t enough storage already!
